Q: Do you make car keys or program fobs?
A: Hood's Lock does not do automotive keys. We do not stock the equipment or materials for auto work.
We specialize in Residential and Commercial only.
Q: I just bought a new home. Do I have to replace all of the locks?
A: No you do not have to replace all of your locks. Hood's Lock can rekey your existing locks to a key that only you have.
Q: My front door has a knob on it that locks, do I really need a deadbolt?
A: Deadbolts provide most of your security on a door. Putting a Deadbolt on the door is not only a deterrent for theives,
it makes forcing the door open much more difficult.
Q: I don't want to carry a bunch of keys with me everday, what kind of lock should I get?
A: For residential applications Kwikset and Schlage make a decent electronic lock. Pending on what functions you want and
which design you like we have lots of options to lighten your daily load of keys.
Q: I am Locked out of my home or business, does the lock have to be destroyed to get me back in?
A: Usually no. Not all locks can be picked and some do have to be drilled to gain access. Hood's Lock has invested in lots
tools and training to try and get you back in without destroying your property. Drilling is always the last option!
Q: We are about to sell our home and can not find our key. We always came in through the garage.
Can you remake our original key?
A: Most of the time absolutely. Some homes were construction master keyed by the builder during construction.
If your locks were never taken off the master system remaking the original key can be difficult and it
would be best off to start fresh.
